The very government that enabled public transit for their protest, Medicaid which enabled them to be alive and the right to protest which, tbh, they preferred guns. In those days I realized how monumentally stupid much of the country was. The movie Idiocracy came out around this time, at least that’s when I saw it. Depressing

@deirdresm@hachyderm.io I feel I've got a closer understanding of what it's like to be black in America right now since my stepson's wife is black. They live in L.A and I've heard numerous stories from her about white people's racism. She was once walking to the store, stopped on a sidewalk (a public place) and a white Karen called the police on her...just for being black and standing on a sidewalk in front of Karen's home looking at her phone to get directions. So no, not celebrating 'Murica today.
