The ID verification doesn't affect GrapheneOS. It doesn't apply to it. It only applies to OSes certified by Google.

@tranquil_cassowary@infosec.exchange you are right, I wasn't clear. The "problem with the OS" I meant was the freedom that will be taken away from everybody when F-Droid apps turn unaccessible. My point is that ppl with Android skins don't usually have F-Droid and won't feel much difference when the tide turns. Ppl with other OS will most certainly feel the difference. Again, you're right. My take was related to the apps - not the OS itself.
