If AI eventually becomes a faster proof machine, thereby affecting the serendipitous nature of mathematics, it could also affect human intellectual development more broadly, since mathematics has played a key role in many major inventions and scientific discoveries. Merely solving a problem was never the only goal of mathematics; the systematic and logical process of pursuing a solution has often led to the discovery of new methods, ideas, and frameworks that later became important in other disciplines.
