@s2208@nicecrew.digital @Snidely_Whiplash@nicecrew.digital @ug@brain.worm.pink @EllisDee@wolfgirl.bar Every country and people has history. What makes European history different and important is that it changes, advances. Nearly every other people's history is the same loop of war, priest-kings or warlords, temporary stability, then war again or some kind of disaster or dark age. Rinse and repeat forever. It's only European history where advances are made, where changes are made. Not just technological, but philosophical, government, religion, standards of living, medicine. Where every other history loops over and over, European history marches forward, creates new and better things, explores, builds upon previous discoveries. Humans had been in the Americas anywhere from 10,000 to 40,000 years before Columbus sailed, but when Europeans found them, they were still literal stone aged people, many practices human sacrifice, little to no metallurgy, and what agriculture that was practiced was often primitive and scarce. Indians had history, but they didn't really do anything new over tens of millennia. Just fighting, fucking, killing.

  • The linear view of time is inherent in Christianity. Paganism cannot accommodate it. The Pagan concept of time is inherently circular. Civilizational progress is natively Christian.
