mind, i'm generally desktop-environment-agnostic; i can live with both gnome and kde, but i preferred the configurability of kde. in the last 25 years i generally switched between the most currently usable desktop environment.
now i'm half-convinced to switch back to gnome just because kde is making me feel like i'm not wanted there.

@mawhrin@circumstances.run I made the switch to Gnome a couple of days ago due to the way this all was handled. With the PaperWM extension (and a system tray extension, why isn't that standard???) Gnome is actually really nice. The developer community for Gnome Apps seems also more active.

@mawhrin@circumstances.run I'm on Xfce right now and will likely continue to be on it for the foreseeable future because, well, my thoughts on GNOME can best be summed up by reading this post on my website, MATE seems like it's dead, and KDE made it abundantly clear they don't want me to be involved so fuck em.
