Since I think I might have been subtooted on this, and since it's come up in some replies, I want to clarify slightly what I mean when I criticize "AI." The trouble is that the term "AI" is a marketing term and not a technical term, and as such can always be retroactively redefined in a way that dodges criticisms.

If I say "AI is unethical," someone can come along that redefine AI away from LLMs and GANs onto something where the ethics are more complex, then switch back once "ethical AI" is in the narrative. So it's complex as hell to lock down "AI" as a term in a way that makes critique possible and meaningful. Maybe I could have said "Ethical LLMs, GANs, and related technologies are impossible." But then that's a lot of extra verbage to carry around, and also narrows my argument more than needed.
