@liztai@hachyderm.io I just finished ***Against the Current***.
I agree it was marvellous (despite my quibbles with the lack of space to breathe in the final arc).
It had a satisfying closure and epilogue which has been an ongoing issue with many of the Idol dramas this and last year. Hopefully, other directors and scriptwriters will take note.
It’s great success in attracting both linear and streaming audiences in China hopefully will go some way in convincing investors and platforms to reconsider the traffic/idol drama model.

@AlsoPaisleyCat@tenforward.social I hope so too. This drama actually reached up to 46.6% on the Yunhe Index, which is really crazy, although it did not beat Pursuit of Jade's 50% yet. I feel that despite the higher viewership for Pursuit of Jade, this drama will probably be more meaningful and debated about for years to come. Drama ini membuat saya memikirkan tentang hidup dan mati. Hidup dan mati saya, sejujurnya. Ia membuat saya fikir jika karakter ini menangis begitu susah untuk hidup dengan baik, bagaimana dengan saya? Mengapa saya hidup dalam autopilot?
