We actually see very very very little code-as-art -- code written for itself and not for what it outputs or can do.
It's a really undeveloped area and quite exciting imo.
I've written little bits of code poetry over the years, things that execute but don't do anything other than express themselves, but it's hard!

Code that runs an art installation is not art. Code that contains an unreachable function called "unrequited_love" is art.
