OK, did you read my story AFTER THE COPS?
https://gregstolze.com/downloads/after-the-cops/
It’s SF, I guess, though it doesn’t demand any innovation other than “radical police reform.” It follows a defunded police officer who gets rehired in a radically reorganized community service organization.
You can get it at that link as Pay What You Want (which could be free).

Just today, I posted up the sequel, THE MUNICIPAL MYSTERY. https://gregstolze.com/downloads/the-municipal-mystery/ There are no characters carried over, but it’s the setting’s answer to “with no cops, who solves crimes?” In this case, it’s (1) a trained CSI, (2) an elderly volunteer and (3) this guy from the neighborhood. Can they solve they mystery of the stolen cash register? Read and find out! This one’s PWYW with a $2 minimum. 2/2
