@tmw@ioc.exchange Without looking into it ex*ten*sively, just a brief once-over, AuroraDroid looks like a reasonable alternative But I'm not sure just how rigorous you want to be, so I'll leave the actual digging for you https://f-droid.org/packages/com.aurora.adroid/

@theimpulson@mastodon.social @tmw@ioc.exchange Pulling open repos doesn't sound *nearly* as difficult as keeping Google happy with anonymous devices downloading apps from the store they run If they find it helpful for tiptoeing between and around checks Google runs per-device, I'm not gonna be mad. I expect Google to be shitty and make their life annoying And if that *is* why they used LLMs with their Play Store front end, I would expect the F-Droid client is free of it - especially when they disclose it in the former, but not the latter

@tmw@ioc.exchange @theimpulson@mastodon.social Sure, and so last message about it, but my "I expect it to be LLM-free" is about *Aurora Droid*, the FOSS-app alternative, with Aurora *Store*, the different, Play Store client, disclosing use of LLMs The "default" F-Droid client you're upset with is not the one I was discussing
