@jwz@mastodon.social @lisamelton@mastodon.social What’s so telling to me is the last part. The platform itself is designed to protect these slop sellers from reams of negative comments, because even though eBay knows it’s junk, they profit from allowing people to sell it.

@jwz@mastodon.social How to report inappropriate content Here’s how you can submit a report to us: On the page where you saw the content, select the question mark icon. If you’re on a mobile device, select the 3 dots. Under Report content, select Submit report. You may be asked to sign in, or submit as a guest. Under What would you like to report?, select the correct type of content, e.g. Feedback. Fill in the form, including the details of the content you’re reporting, and the reason for reporting it. You can also add freeform text and upload documents. Select Submit report. Source: https://www.ebay.com/help/account/regulatory/reporting-content-ebay?id=5412

@jwz@mastodon.social Years ago, some big corp. canceled a few of my listings via the eBay "VeRO" program. https://pages.ebay.com/vero/ https://vero.corp.ebay.com/ If you can't get VeRO, or they charge money for it, the general reporting feature might also work for whack-a-mole: https://www.ebay.com/help/account/regulatory/reporting-content-ebay
