  @dlharmon question for you - do you know how the launch for a screw in SMA bulkhead connector is supposed to work? I’m repairing a mini-circuits splitter and the outer conductor doesn’t appear to be soldered to the board. Do they compress the edge of the board and hope it makes contact with the bottom? Or do they make do with the return current going from the bottom of the board to the enclosure, and then to the connector threads?

  @dlharmon@chaos.social it’s a weird optimization though, the caps cost nothing. I suppose the steps to put them on are not free, but it can’t be much more than $0.25 for a high volume part like that. It doesn’t even save the customer money as they have to put the caps on their board (plus some).
