It's a common misconception. 'jigsaw' is the tool used to make them. The puzzle is actually called 'jigsaw's monster'

A friend has invited me to do some livecoded music at a gig for his round number birthday. Absolutely tickled for that. I'm hoping also to do an hour's Strudel noodling for Monday Night Bytes soonish. I need to spend some time with my new slider gadget - it didn't work well when I tried to perform with it last

Edit: on in half an hour 🙂 Monday 19th Oct, 8-9pm UK time, I'm colliding two of my hobbies... livecoding music and #demoscene. It'll be a challenge for me - a 1 hour run is a lot, but I'm pretty confident I can do some nice exploration in that time and @FieldFX Monday Night Bytes is a friendly place for experiments. There'll be 4+ folks doing live graphics, coding #shaders and #TIC80. I'll be providing sound with #strudel. Tune in? https://twitch.com/fiel...

WOW @FieldFX Monday Night Bytes was INCREDIBLE FUN. Thanks all for sticking through the tech gremlins! 😄 That's a 1 hour livecoded #Strudel music milestone for me. I think the only major goof was accidentally switching on the screen reader. Oh my! Recording linked below. Includes lovely #TIC80 and #shader visual effects also built over an hour. [Fair warning: May contain a 30 minute jazz odyssey homage to the Countdown clock theme] https://scenesat.com/video-recordings/r0VjqE #dem...

Anyone know anything about electric radiators and Home Assistant? From a bit of research, it looks as though many of them are powered by the same board (Tuya) and seem to require a manufacturer's app (yuk!) and connection to some cloud (yuk!) to do smart things?! I have found a couple of Zigbee 3.0 enabled ones - I can't tell if they still have to chat to some 3rd party service to work well. Any advice appreciated, ta! #smarthome #homeassistant

Kicking myself for not buying a crate of solar eclipse glasses and setting up a pop-up stall on the high street... apparently loads of people have been asking store staff for them. Including me (also kicking myself for not getting a single pair) 🫠

A double eclipse here. Moon in front of the sun and cloud in front of the moon. Ah well. See you in 2081.

The newly released 30th anniversary Quake pack, Dawn of the Machine is pretty good fun. I'm three levels in and it's already twisting expectations

No win for the bin - but a quarter of the electorate making the protest vote is quite something. He also earnt 25 times the support that itchy skinflap Fox got... which is incredibly pleasing!

#emfCamp Spare 5-15 minutes today? Please donate some feedback - it'll improve things for next time and also ensure the organisers know you care! https://www.emfcamp.org/feedback Also, if you have any feedback on: - The @FieldFX@mastodon.online TIC-80 Workshop - My Strudel Workshop - The Domeparty Planetarium show - The Trash Compactor EMOM ...that I can chew over in a personal capacity, please (also) public/private message me here! Will be much appreciated 🙂

#emfcamp I'm reliably informed that we have some banger entries for the #demoscene #domescene @FieldFX@mastodon.online planetarium show at 1830! https://www.emfcamp.org/schedule/2026/520-demoscene-planetarium-screening Running time: 15-20 minutes probably. With some extra chat about the entries and/or the demoscene. We're only allowed one sitting, but have another slot to show on Sunday 1400 EDIT: had a preview. Confirmed bangers what an amazing setup!

I made some #Strudel starter cards to tuck around our #emfCamp EMOM tent. They're intended to give people a starting point for play, offering a spoonful of inspiration without getting too bogged down in detail. Feedback welcome and I can host the lot (12 of them so far) somewhere if anyone would like to download them for use or to improve them [as long as you share updates back!] #livecoding #algorave
