  The great thing about the 7 minute Grokyssey debacle that was released recently is that I finally have a good metaphor for LLM code for the uninitiated. It's all there: Badly repeating an already gloomy status quo, covered in dirt, no consistency, and probably going to be abandoned before completion.

  There's a new (to me) kind of #ttrpg game dev jam on itch.io: The PrinterJam 2026 (https://itch.io/jam/printerjam2026) Looks similar to the Appendix N jam, but instead of a "lost" novel that was ignored but mentioned by Gary Gygax, you get a band name for some "lost" 90s gig, create a flyer for it, and a RPG based on that. Larger page allowance than the App. N jam, found photocopier doc look & feel preferred. Not that many participants yet, but sounds interestin...

  This is a German "Fliesentisch", a table covered in tiles at the top. It's not just old-fashioned, it's basically synonymous with a particularly old-fashioned person. Let's call them "squares", the shape of the tiles certainly fits. Are there any furniture items in your country that also transcend mere functionality? (And preferably no where else, not talking about Eames lounge chairs as a synonym for the nouveau somewhat-riche) #furniture #fliesentisch

  Apart from the well-aged "Asbestos and rubber factory Hamburg", this is the first time I've seen both a proper umlaut ("ä" in "erhältlich") and the workaround writing style ("Ue" in "Ueberall/Überall"). Was that something done intentional? Did they only have the lower-case umlaut for those new fancy sans serif typefaces? #typography

  This One Album a Day thing isn't doing well for me. We started with Lynyrd Skynyrd and now went down further south, quality-wise, with Oasis' debut record. To be fair, this hasn't reached that level of cultural osmosis for me, so I actually do think I'm listening to this the first time. But novelty won't save me from the vocal disaster that is [I forgot which one] Gallagher.

  Wenn ich das richtig verstehe hat man korrekterweise mal erkannt dass es zu wenig Psychotherapeut:innen gibt die gesetzlich versorgen. Und dass die Tatsache dass jede:r hier einen "Kassensitz" für zigzehntausend Ommen kaufen muss, wenn überhaupt einer vorhanden ist (in Städten selten). Nach einer Ausbildung die schon zigzehntausend Ommen kostete – also für den Abschnitt den ein Arzt schon bezahlt bekommt. Also hat man eine "salomonische" Lösung erfunden und es gibt halbe Kas...

  Reading an old DTP book, and they touted the Windows 3.x macro recorder as one of the primary items why you would pick that version. I completely forgot that existed. IIRC, Microsoft has nothing like that included with modern versions. I mean, Autohotkey etc. are more powerful, but the same can be said about screenshot tools or text editors, and Windows is still including vestigial versions of those.
