Trying out https://outpost-fe.w.on-t.work for browsing the Fediverse after reading this post: https://w.on-t.work/outpost-frontend-details So far I like the general UI tweaks, though it's a little difficult to get used to the Twitter-style single column again when I've been using Phanpy/Mastodon with 4 columns for a few years now.

Can't wait for the Twitter and Reddit gamers to blame this on the CEO being a woman. For anyone with higher level brain function, here's a better explanation https://aftermath.site/asha-sharma-microsofts-xbox-instacart-meta-pain-sponge-succesion/

Does anyone know the latest news on this server's future? Considering how dodgy Mastodon migrations are I'd like to move sooner than later if the closure is certain

@sanchayan X-Men '97 is incredible! I was so hyped after Season 1 that I went and watched the 1998 Silver Surfer show just to get my fill of the 90s comic style https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0203268/

Nick had been helping with a lot of improvements to the kage library, the #Kotlin/JVM implementation of the age encryption specification (https://age-encryption.org/v1), and has finally released his own Android app based on kage for handling age encrypted data! https://github.com/ElCruncharino/mage

Didn't ever expect to wake up to 1100 colleagues being laid off but that's what today has been at #Cloudflare. Through the grace of the orphan crushing machine nobody in my team was affected but it's an incredible shitshow.

I bought my new keyboard last month under the assumption it had wireless capabilities. I could not figure out how to run it wirelessly, and assumed I had just read incorrectly. I found the power on switch for wireless yesterday night when I took off all keycaps to clean them. WHY WAS IT UNDER CAPS LOCK????

In typical blogger fashion I spent more time today tinkering with the blog than actually writing this #weeknote, but on the plus side it's got #food pics! https://msfjarvis.dev/posts/weeknotes-week-12-2026/ #blogging

Rewarding myself for the scrumptious dinner I made by settling into bed and reading Project Hail Mary instead of being mad at Marvel Rivals players. For pictures of the food you gotta read the weeknotes: https://msfjarvis.dev/categories/weeknotes/ :P

RE: https://mastodon.social/@themrmilchmann/116280917521213001 I know Gradle's not printing fat stacks when most of their users use it for free but it's pretty lame to make this proprietary after years.

RE: https://androiddev.social/@Aurimas/116291691020119292 FYI this only applies to Copilot, not any other interactions. If you don't use Copilot nothing changes, and if you were already opted out that preference will carry over even though its scope has massively widened. Very shitty to make this opt-out instead of opt-in and hide behind "established industry practices" as your justification. https://github.blog/news-insights/company-news/updates-to-github-copilot-in...

Just published a new release of Claw, my #Android client for @lobsters This includes a bunch of performance fixes for rendering posts in the main list views as well as significant improvements in the comments page to reduce scrolling jank. I have also made the long overdue change to allow the app to be localized, and PRs are welcome for additional languages that people wish to see supported in the app. https://github.com/msfjarvis/compose-lobsters/releases/tag/v1.62.0
