Our dear @zzclaybourne@wandering.shop's new book broke $8k! Huzzah! What if it breaks $10k? I hate being on video, so you can help ZZ and discomfit me. Everybody wins except me! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidiansky/khumalo-tales

RE: https://wandering.shop/@zzclaybourne/117532902406421809 You have 15 minutes to make Zigs write a rat book. You know you want it. You know it's worth it.

Okay, I called @zzclaybourne@wandering.shop's campaign for $8k on the second day it opened. Two hours from closing, it's at $8790. Another $210 would both be really cool, and prove me solidly wrong. Y'all like proving me wrong. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidiansky/khumalo-tales

The purpose of a system is what it does. The purpose of cryptocurrency is crime and money laundering. Every so often, though, I have an impulse to support bitcoin on my store. Take payment, immediately convert it to cash, transfer to my pocket. Wouldn't that be better than sending that cash to crooks? Then I come to my senses. That ecosystem soils all who touch it. Looking at the news today: I chose wisely.

After decades of working with computers I am generally correct--after all, "It will all end in tears" is evergreen. That's why I encouraged @zzclaybourne@wandering.shop to Kickstart his new book. I wanted to be right about something happy for once! If this breaks $8k in the next 38 hours, he will net more than a trad pub advance would get him. Make the world better. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidiansky/khumalo-tales

Got the "All the Novels and Collections" and "The Full Michael" updated on my bookstore for #TwistedPresents and #tormentedByTeledildonics. My art skills are marginal, but I am very pleased with how the image for TFM came out. Even if the youngsters won't get it. https://www.tiltedwindmillpress.com/product/the-full-michael-2026-10/

About 60 hours left to back @zzclaybourne@wandering.shop's new book. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidiansky/khumalo-tales Zigs has had a rough year. You'd make it much better by dragging this thing past $8k. Even after fulfillment, that'd earn him more than a midlist trad deal. Stick it to The Man. Back ZZ.

I had plans to travel alone for Thanksgiving, but my shoulder surgery canceled them. Filed a claim with the airline insurance last Friday. The check arrived today. I am very surprised that something works the way it's supposed to!

The new @zzclaybourne@wandering.shop book is within kissing distance of $7k. Not even a thorough kiss. More like how you kiss that one aunt on the cheek. No, not *that* aunt. The one you wish you could spend more time with. Give https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidiansky/khumalo-tales that kiss. You won't regret it.

As a Gen X, I am pleased to see the youngsters keeping up my ways. That stare will serve you well throughout your life, child. Polish it. Hone it. Turn it into a weapon as we did before you. https://www.cnn.com/2026/10/24/health/gen-z-stare-wellness

All my web sites, and all the sites I host, are shut down until the PHP patch is out and I can apply it. Folks I trust assure me it's really that bad. https://arstechnica.com/security/2026/10/php-maintainers-tell-web-devs-to-prepare-themselves-for-critical-security-patches/

So there's the PHP announcement. Ick. No #FreeBSD quarterly packages yet. Might be time for me to finally set up my own package builder, dammit.

Me, 4PM: "dang it, why is my incremental zfs send of /var/mysql sending the entire file instead of just the changes from yesterday???" Me, now: "Oh. The contents of /var/mysql churn 99% between yesterday and today." Anyway, I'm working hard on #openzfsmastery. I'd appreciate your support. https://mwl.io/sponsor
