  @stergarr@mastodon.green @Nafnlaus for sure it does not seem to work in the app… either goes on forever with the spinning wheel, or show a small list with just the common connections and a message saying it won’t display the list from other servers.

  @ziya @Sheril Not really sure… it wasn’t even part of the issues people listed in their exit polls… Too many people will only vote for their party. And too many focus on « me-now »… and do not use their critical thinking and world knowledge to waive out issue that are painful now, but are not the real long term issues. Gerrymandering and all vote suppressions tactics are for sure an issue: but so is the politician politic discourse without substance…

  @coldfish there could be a bit of an echo chamber as a side effect… mainly since what get suppressed is not broadcasted, so once you are on one server you won’t really know there is a different universe outside this walled garden… it is a bit more peaceful (which feels so good for us birdsite-expats), but not sure of the long term effects 🤔

  @coldfish not looking for trash… but for other thoughts/thought processes… here it seems that people need to mark even basic politic as “CW”… seems a bit extreme… And yes: basically you see what you want as far as you connect with enough open minded people… which requires active work… not sure everyone will do it (compared to staying in a comfy echo chamber where they don’t get challenged…), that’s all…

  @ct_bergstrom not sure how prevalent it is, but what about choice to manage exposure to others? As a care taker for my pets, I cannot get sick; and the last thing I want is to expose friends and family… I would think/hope people feel similar for their children, elders, family, friends, community. Clearly not the first thought of many who seem to prefer the bravado/selfish approach …
