Found a huge problem with the app. If you had trouble syncing between devices: that was on me :( hopefully that should now be finally fixed.

Finally able to introduce the big feature I've wanted to add for a long while to the app: a proper row counter and the ability to view the pattern at the same time. In project view you can add a counter or directly go to the pattern and also see guides to keep your place in a pattern. Since a single count can be too little for a complex pattern you can add multiple counter & can set start and end values for it for a (repeating) section. Thanks again for the suggestions! #crochet...

Many updates launched today for the app. I added the ability to search on Ravelry even when not logged into ravelry, including being able to use their yarn database to look for yarn. And the app now speaks Spanish, French and Italian

I've been working a bit on the ability to import patterns from anywhere and i have to say i love the lazy workflow i now have: 1) see something on instagram 2) open share sheet 3) send it to yarn squirrel 4) auto-fill a bunch of info 5) have it search ravelry for a match (if available) or 6) add any additiona info i might want to have. The app is slowly but surely gaining features and today it is gaining the ability to define steps you can mark as done to get small bursts of achievement while working on your project. I'm including a list of suggestions for common things like making a gauge swatch, weaving in ends, blocking etc but obviously you can define your own, too. #knitting #crochet

Starting to experiment with shareable graphics for finished projects for socials. All fields can be shown or turned off. I’m adding different styles and sizes. Any important fields I am missing? #crochet #knitting

Currently working on an Android version of YarnSquirrel with all of the features of the iOS app (apart from sync) so that you can have a mobile view of your ravelry library and all pdf patterns you own and easily keep track of your yarn stash and your projects. #crochet #knitting

The Android Version of Yarn Squirrel should now be available - this is my first ever Android release so if anything is amiss, I would love to know! Anyway, Yarn Squirrel allows you to see your Ravelry information on the go and combine it with PDF patterns to one big library over everything. Stash your yarn more easily by taking a photo of the wrapper to get the name and keep your projects updated. Works without Ravelry, too. want to see how easy it is to import a pdf pattern into yarn squirrel? check out this easy 20 second youtube short to see: https://youtube.com/shorts/YbOkfd2M74Y?si=Hgc6-tJYzyV_Tmf8 we scan the pdf to try and get the image, title and author of the pattern and match it to what is available on Ravelry. Of course you can edit later if we did not find the correct things and manually do a match again later, too. Or keep it completely separate. #crochet #knitting #patterns

A new update is currently in Review with Apple - in addition to bug fixes I added a new tab for storing Buttons, Safety Eyes and other supplies. Make your stash even more searchable for yourself! You can then also connect them to a project

Just submitted a small update with several bugfixes. Hopefully it should make its way through app review within a few hours

Another update is in review. Images should now load better and I also added favorites bundles as a separate view and a way to add to them

A bug fix update is making its way to devices now. A kind user let me know that some knitting patterns got added as crochet. I fixed this now. Sorry about that!

Found a really embarrassing bug in the app for which I just submitted a fix to Apple. In general: if you use apps by small teams or individuals and you find a bug - please if you can take the time to let them know! It is so hard to find everything and none of us ship bugs on purpose.

Next feature? Storing Care Instructions for the yarn in your stash. I know i definitely want that in a convenient location… I'm also including the ability to sync that to the notes field in ravelry #yarn

An update to the app has just released which opens the yarn stash up to all users and you can now also add yarn care information to a stash yarn. Also if you link yarn to a project that has care information attached it gets added to that as well

New feature: Add any pattern URL to the app to save it to your library or favorites Working on the app, one thing I am beginning to understand that there are a lot of people not using Ravelry for their library - for different types of reasons - and while Yarn Squirrel has always supported using the app independent of the integration, with the last few updates I have strengthened the offerings and now all users get a Library, Favorites and Stash functionality. #crochet #knitting

With Ravelry down i noticed i need to handle this more gracefully in the app. Will try and add an update for this soon #hugADevOps

I created this app for myself intitially. Yesterday I got to truly test if it did what I want from it. A store near me had a 20% off everything day. I love their yarn section but it is expensive yarn. So I went in, saw some yarn I loved the look of. Checked its weight in the app and then checked if I had any patterns I want to make with that weight. I did and could immediately check how much I would need. Was exactly what was left (it was on sale, too!) Kismet purchase #yarn

Just saw that from now until May 5th Scheepjes #yarn is giving away free patterns on #ravelry for some of their existing Whirl patterns: https://www.ravelry.com/bundles/celebrate-10-years-of-whirl-with-scheepjes #crochet #knitting

Sometimes you realize that you did not implement some obvious features… So far the #yarn stash has been bound to having a Ravelry login and that then also ment not being able to add yarn to a project. I am working on that now and due to it I am looking for beta testers who would like to track their #knitting or #crochet projects and do not use ravelry and are willing to give my iOS app a try and report back if something isn't working or could be improved.
