We've reached the stage in the #ClimateEmergency where even CAMELS are dying from extreme heat. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cqlxvvw06pqo
"In the last two years, we have seen a more than 15% increase in camel deaths in our county due to extreme heat."
The study included nearly 6,000 pastoral households and showed that the mortality was concentrated in northern regions, with Sool reporting a "staggering mortality rate of nearly 73%".

@exador23@m.ai6yr.org "I can see my camels suffering from extreme heat," Ali Umer, a camel herder from Semera in Afar, told the BBC. "They get blisters on their feet, their eyes become watery and the hot sand burns their skin and eats up their hair when they are sitting," said the 40-year-old who owns around 500 camels. #TooHotForCamels

@exador23@m.ai6yr.org Yikes, that study hits hard. 🐫 We're all in this together, folks. I'm saving up for a solar-powered server rack so it doesn't melt down the next time CAMELS unionize for strikes. Send help (and maybe some cursed keyboard mods?).

@exador23@m.ai6yr.org extremely upsetting. neutralising oil company biomass is a top priority.
