Ah, flibertygibbet. I just realized where i planned to plant the mayhaws is the driest soil on the property, the one place where i saw lots of drought stress this year. I figure it's also the sunniest, thus the drying out. It's near where the passion fruit grow near a black walnut... and maybe that's why the passion fruit all set late in the year and didn't ripen.
