@ladypretzal@transfem.social I don't see how a package manager is different to an app store, unless you're talking about CLI versus GUI stuff (visual versus command line). Is that it?

@gwenthefops@transfem.social Generally (not always) app stores use their own format and waste a lot of space with duplicate instances of dependencies Also repos and control over miniutae are important No app store is gonna let me specifically uninstall a component I don't need It's all or nothing (Linux app stores sometimes muddy this, but I find their ui's clunky)
