They note that in addition to advances in climate fingerprinting, global warming has also advanced: The post-2009 period included the 10 warmest years in instrumental surface temperature records, enhancing the signal of human-caused warming relative to the "noise" of natural variability. https://phys.org/news/2026-10-climate-fingerprints-reveal-stronger-evidence.html #ClimateChange #UpheavalClimate #ClimateInstability #ClimateReversal #MassAtrocity #pollution #ecology #environment #climate

September was the second-warmest September on record globally, with an average temperature of 16.27 degrees Celsius. September also marked the second consecutive month this year when global temperatures exceeded 1.5C above the pre-industrial levels, EU climate change service Copernicus said on Monday https://www.hardenexpress.com.au/story/9367015/crossing-paris-climate-target-only-a-matter-of-time/ #ClimateChange #UpheavalClimate #ClimateInstability #ClimateReversal #MassAtrocity #pollution #ecology #environment #climate

Arctic Sea Ice appeared to be entering a new phase. In the early 2020s, the rapid decline seen over previous decades seemed to ease, leading scientists to ask whether winter sea ice loss had slowed. Our new study suggests that conclusion was premature. After two exceptionally low-ice winters in 2025 and 2026, the recent slowdown disappears. The almost 6% drop between 2024 and 2025 was the largest single-year decline on record. The latest observations restore a statistically significant downward trend, showing how a few unusual years can quickly change the overall picture. https://theconversation.com/arctic-sea-ice-decline-seemed-to-be-slowing-until-two-record-breaking-low-ice-winters-287637?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon #ClimateChange #Environment #SeaIce
