Another indicator that the US military isn't serious about anything at all: I've been witness to the creeping, glacial, embryonic fits and starts of cheesy, just-out-of-the-box from Costco quadcopter and FPV drone operations the US military is just now deigning to even tentatively authorize. And they're reliably pathetic. This is an Army that is so far behind the curve of generational warfare that they make the generals of Verdun look like Sun Tzu. It's well and truly a social program for retarded 8 year olds run by retarded 11 year olds using weapons developed in the 70s and deployed in the 80s. But they can run really far. That's very important. Think of how bad we would have lost if Omar Bradley couldn't have run a 5k ruck march.

Point taken, but the victim has no idea what the drone is packing until it hits. The ones in the vidya looked like half a pound of tannerite; not all drones, even hunter-killers, are so armed. Take it out at whatever distance you can - give yourself the chance to decide where and when it explodes and not the drone operator.
