The original and the expansion are honestly flawless multiplayer games. Modern Warfare and its sequel perfected the bombastic cinematic war movie style campaign and addictive multiplayer progression loop. There is no reason to play a call of duty game beyond the first black ops (maybe MW3 just to see the conclusion of the story) but there have been, what 16 games since then?

I jumped in the hot tub with my phone in my pocket last summer and needed a phone and couldn’t really wait for one to ship from a random eBay or swappa seller so I had to go to Best Buy. They had nothing carrier unlocked that was newer than the 128GB iPhone 15 for $800, refurbished. All else they had was a couple old pixels and galaxies and they weren’t much cheaper. Policies like impact the poor folks who can’t afford the cash for phones that are unlocked and are stuck paying high monthly service rates.

I think Skyrim is the perfect answer to this question. It’s a good game. Everyone has played a billion files because while it’s good it’s entirely unfocused and mediocre so people don’t feel motivated to take their character to the end of the game

The rich and powerful in socialist countries were born into it. I can’t argue with social mobility being harder than ever under capitalism now. But perception often lags reality which is why people defend the broken system

In America, we grow up to really cherish liberty and freedom of choice (even if it just the illusion of choice) and so we really idealize entrepreneurship. Capitalism is the only economic system that allows upward class mobility The examples of socialism/communism collapse are all within the lifetimes of most (or not far off for those of us under 40). Capitalism hasn’t quite failed yet (2008 hurt a lot and woke some people up to its failures). It may not be popular with some of the instances on the fediverse but capitalism is the least flawed of all the flawed economic systems. The systems are flawed because they are ran by flawed humans. The best societies take strengths of each system and combine them to mitigate the flaws of each. Capitalism with strong social safety nets is probably the best that humans can do.
