Most Masto-compatible software that’s not Mastodon itself (e.g. Akkoma, Sharkey, Wafrn) support threaded conversations so if you want to be in that part of the Fediverse you can try one of them out.

Nerdy girlthing! I really enjoy chatting about games and manga :3
My profile picture is a pixel art of a spooky pumpkin with cat ears and a witch hat on its left ear. There’s night sky in the background. Made by me.
My banner picture is a scene from Lunacid Tears of the Moon showing a castle amidst mountains above which a cone of light spreads from a beam from the sky.
I have two alt accounts I switch to when I feel like using Lemmy instead of Piefed: @enemyofsun@lemmy.blahaj.zone and @retractedfangs@mander.xyz.

Does Mastodon bring anything of value to a Lemmy user?
As far as I can tell from my venture into Mastodon’s feeds, the demographics of that part of Fediverse isn’t that different from what Lemmy has: the same political takes, FOSS stuff, “big corpos bad”, etc.
I wonder, is there anything that Mastodon excels at that Lemmy just doesn’t provide? For example, I noticed that there are game developers and artists posting their stuff on Mastodon. Not many game developers (or any creatives, really) on Lemmy though.
I literally started reading manga in hope that it will distract me from a roguelike that I’m also addicted to but it proves to be too efficient, distracting myself even from sleep!!!
You know it’s an edit because there’s “Nimi”, “mastered” and “Dark Souls” on one screen.
