A most perfect weekend 🥰
Both days woke up at 4 a.m. 🙃, yesterday for a lake adventure and today for a much less 🥵 mountain. Plus steak was shared, so happy #Husky.

The experience in the brick and mortar store sure did suck, but was it worth it: yesterday my last AirPod Pro died and it was time to pick up the Pro 3.
I wasn’t prepared for this sound quality, and the noise canceling is as good as they say. Pretty comfortable for me too, which was what made me wait this long, I was afraid I’d find them uncomfortable but no, so far so good.

But it’s for her, and in just a few days she won’t even remember it, especially when the drain out, which I can only imagine can’t be comfortable.

@ff00aa@mastodon.social OK, I did a couple tests with two songs with decent bass that I know well, Black and White by Micheal Jackson and Raspberry Swirl by Tori Amos and yeah, I take it back, this is a significant improvement.

My answer was that, in my experience, this is actually one of the areas where AI helps the most.
Specifically, we instructed Claude explicitly to:

Usually, I have ~105÷110 GBs occupied on 128.

There go automatic software updates on my phone, once I disabled it the 15 gigs were released immediately and there's no way I will allow again to wake up and waste half an hour because Apple cannot check how much space is available before filling it up.

Yesterday I was using VSCode and at disappeared on me while I was typing.
"Oh, it crashed” I thought.

The only thing that frustrates me more than being unable to set a limit for Photos and Notes, which happily eat 10 gigs each, is System Data: 35 Gigabytes of supposedly caches and data that the system should manage, and yet never decreases even under pressure.
It’s really getting bad, poor UI decisions are only the visible part but issues cut deep, all around. 😭

I do wonder why it’s not a stick going up, considering how great the app and ecosystem are.
I think the two exceptions I’ve heard from people I’ve showed my Drafts setup have always been in two buckets:

Inline media, especially images and PDFs;

Filesystem storage instead of database.
Both would be great additions for me as well, but then again, they’d change the app drastically.
