I fucked up my PC trying to install Linux and I'd like to freshly install a more compatible Linux for an older computer
Is there a way to just reset and do everything over like by repartitioning and installing like Fedora or Ubuntu?

Its never been worse. The US has been checkmated by:
- crony capitalism
- gerontocracy
- 2 party duopoly
- captured opposition (Congress)
- captured Supreme Court (SCOTUS)
- captured president/executive
- captured Senate

No offense taken, I know very little about Linux currently so its all the same fine to me as a jumping off point or analogy to begin from.
Things can be incorrect or “inapt” yet have value as a stepping stone to the discourse about whatever :)

I was struggling to think where i recognized that bit was but you just solved that. They want rent, never for you to own anything, much less anything tangible that cant be taken away or revoked or forced to surrender or relinquish
Appl does the same with music and videos and audiobooks and books They want to license it to you and for you to have zero access to the actual files and brainwash entire ongoing new generations to not even understand a file system/owning real files and knowing where to get basically any file you want. The whole notion of a file having tangible value and operable

I kind of enjoy them, like having a brick wall to bounce a tennis ball off of. Its often not even about its ostensible "intelligence"/pattern-matching or whatever, sometimes its helpful to have a "conversational" "partner" that helps you explore ideas or thoughts without fear of judgement and that applies that improv "Yes, and..." style of engaging—even if its sycophantic. Thats gonna have to be on the person to learn to "pushback" or develop appropriate criticality to help them self-immunize against the tools bias to validating you.
I'm gonna go ahead and make a controversial statement and say that some of us who have instinctually and existentially had it drilled into us that we're always wrong and there's little value to our input or accuracy to it can actually benefit from a little bit of fluffing or building up once in a while as long as there is a reasonable vigilant ongoing practice to challenge it constantly (where we feel confident or want to test different theories or orientations) and try to find our way to a more reasonable baseline of informeed or earned credulity towards our own abillities and cognitive abillities or at least interlocutory facillity

Because it makes it easier to control them. Pro-social behavior should be valued and prioritzed but there is also a risk people become too people-pleasing and are not taught to protect themselves and importantly not how to be an “asshole” when necessary.
All three are necessary but the last is its own form of dark magic.

Cant wait to see this. She’s terrifying and Fielder is imho the perfect foil to interview her.
Its weird cuz she just ripped off a bunch of rich people, I dont really have any reason to hate her really but she’s sort of emblematic of what is problematic of startup and tech culture and in a sense identify culture where being the first ___ founder/CEO or one of few ____ founders/CEOs/whatever is part of the pitch.
In a better world it would never have entered the equation much less overshadowed the actual lack of viable product/IP. How did no blood scientist/dr/expert not easily point out their premise was fatally flawed in a way that doomed the whole exercise, both internally and publicly?
There were some after the fact and it was exposed who were casually like "ya, the blood available from a pinprick to the finger doesnt suffice for the grand vision Theranos was sold as and predicated upon

Its dumb that politicians are even involved in this non-issue, its the same with trans medical stuff, in what other areas would a sleazy politician ever be invited to dictate what happens between a person and their dr/medical care?
There’s a parallel in these things that I feel gets missed in all the hubbub. Why are their opinions or attention warranted, much less demanded on either matter? Why so quick to praise one and condemn the other with the same hand.
This is exactly the idiocy that led to Trump getting that dude’s yellow card yanked, apparently the President has executive discretion over international sporting events and bodies

The problem is a lot of this is checkmate. How do you reverse any of these massive changes your advocating? Pretty sure its going to require some majority or plurality of parties some of whom may be similar to RI in their interest in not having their voice degraded?
How do you do that non-violently or in some less than multilateral way
