This is your infrequent reminder that the US is the last nation left in the UN to just not ratify the convention on the rights of the child.
This is also your infrequent reminder that corporal punishment in schools is still legal in many southern states.

In the same way the EVs are not the solution to our environmental and transportation woes, 3D printed housing is also not a solution the actual problems we are facing.

There was a car LOUDLY speeding down 12th. I turned, expecting street racers. Nope, it’s a cop. That’s #tacoma ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I truly hate it when the code does exactly what I tell it to. #softwaredevelopment

@trigonella@social.seattle.wa.us step one is to go here and comment https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary/?BillNumber=2112&Year=2025&Initiative=false#documentSection
Step two is writing your reps personally to tell them you’ll primary them if they support this crap.

@MsHearthWitch@wandering.shop I find the internet to be ever full of people with fairly middling takes which they believe apply to literally everyone. This is, of course, not true.

@reece everything under the “other demands” section is so reasonable. I can see why the unions are asking to halt this rollout, but it seems to me they are saying “halt this rollout until we can have law and policy in place protecting our workers and transit riders”.
I live in Puget Sound, I absolutely see the value in an integrated fare system and support efforts for that wholeheartedly. I can also see where the drivers and their unions are coming from, and if the people handling the day to day operations of the network say “hey this could cause these problems and we need to slow down to think things through”, that’s worth heavily weighted consideration.

@ohmu@social.seattle.wa.us @seabikeblog@social.ridetrans.it it does feel like these “yeah you can make these e-bikes that go highway speed you just can’t ride them some places” are totally unenforceable. It seems that many people won’t even know the difference.
