mastodon 4.7.2The dokieli team is at the #Solid Symposium in London! https://sosy2026.eu/
We ( @yesvirginia@w3c.social ) gave a keynote talk "dokieli. Revolution Will Not Be Centralised" :

🗣️🌐🔣🈂️ Dokieli is now internationalized (#i18n) @webi18n@w3c.social .
* Real-time language switching from the #UI.
* Browser language detection w/ persistence.
* Currently: English and Spanish, more to come.
* Separates UI localization (#l10n) from content language selection.
More i18n is WIP, e.g., language preference from profile, RTL support, locale-aware formatting, docs and website translations, adaptive UI, community translations.
This work is supported by @nlnet@social.nlnet.nl 💚 ( https://nlnet.nl/project/Dokieli-Collaborative/ )

We have just shipped dokieli's new menu design! Now we have grouped features and tabs so it is easier to find what you are looking for.
Go check it out and let us know what you think.

@khinsen@scholar.social , thanks for raising this! You are completely right that this is not well communicated in the UI and docs. We have just created these issues which go into more depth if you are interested:
With regards to the lack of info/error you experienced when attempting to save to a random URL, that was a bug and we have just fixed it. You should see a proper error now.

🗣️🌐🔣🈂️ We are working on improving dokieli's internationalization (#i18n) and localization (#l10n) support as well as translations (#t9n) in the #UI as part of our https://nlnet.nl/project/Dokieli-Collaborative/ project supported by 💚 @nlnet@social.nlnet.nl . Following @webi18n@w3c.social guidance.
This complements the existing feature that allows content creators to tag the languages of their articles and annotations.
Lots of exciting stuff just on this core feature. Can't wait to ship the first phase of this work. More details to come...
🕵️ As part of #dokieli's roadmap for improving #credibility assessment on the web:

we've just shared dokieli's response to @w3c@w3c.social Authentic Web Workshop Questionnaire:
https://github.com/w3c/authentic-web-workshop/blob/main/DokieliQ.md
Stay tuned for a presentation date on the ongoing project later this summer!
At dokieli Interstellar Enterprises, we are approaching the speed of light with the internationalization (#i18n) work.
Added translations for the #UI in #Armenian (Շնորհավոր Սուրբ Ծնունդ), #French #Japanese #Korean #Italian #Portuguese #Ukrainian . Used temporary bootstrap machine-translations but soon the community process will take over.
There is also Initial text direction support (but we'll share more later when showcasing RTL languages).
