I'm really enjoying daily driving #MobileLinux I'm finding so much joy in having my favorite applications in my pocket. I really like @phosh@social.phosh.mobi and Stevia (Phosh keyboard) is possibly the best mobile keyboard I've used.

My time with SailfishOS has come to an end. Next up is a @furilabs@fosstodon.org #flx1s and the first impressions are excellent.

@jbowen@mast.hpc.social as far as I am aware there are no mainline linux phones that reliably make calls. There are a number of devices that are very close to having most features working, Oneplus 6, Fairphone 4/5 and Pixel 3a for example.
2026 will be a really interesting year for #Linuxmobile as camera tuning improves and device support becomes more complete.
I'm interested to learn more about how mainline linux devices can implement push notifications to wake the device.

Camera drivers are working on a number of devices with work ongoing to implement autofocus and tuning files.

@jolla@techhub.social wishing you lot's of success with this device and the future of Sailfish. A great opportunity lies ahead with the need and desire for European independence stronger than ever, Hyvää matkaa.

@gnome@floss.social it would be great to see some of the initiatives have funding options. Things like GNOME OS or GNOME Mobile. I would love to see these accelerated through additional funding and I would happily donate monthly to see GNOME mobile work progress and get merged upstream.

@jolla@techhub.social I would love this device but with @postmarketOS@social.treehouse.systems

@Muppensish@mastodon.social I've spent the last week reading the forum and watching 10 year old videos trying to learn more about Sailfish. It would be very helpful to have a more up to date demo.

@adriannyc@mastodon.social I'm super excited by this. We have usb-c hubs on every screen in the house for the steam deck and laptops (desks and TVs). I dream of being able to connect a #LinuxMobile device and have it fit the screen, moving my content and apps with me.

@poetaster@mastodon.gamedev.place well deserved. You do a great job moderating the forum and keeping apps updated.

@scottjenson@social.coop great talk! You are an excellent presenter. Thank you for sharing.

@gnome@floss.social is it possible to provide extra funding for a specified purpose? For example I would like to make an extra donation to support gnome on mobile.

@cas@social.treehouse.systems @verdre@mastodon.social That is fantastic news! Fingers crossed this works out! (I had to google IANAL. Unfortunate abbreviation. Sounds like a terrible apple product)

@me I would recommend searching the sailfish forum. The issues are well documented. I had lots of issues the bigger ones were:
- AGPS doesn't work
- Using GPS stops the sound working
- Finger print reader stops working (looses finger prints)
- Haptics / vibration stops working
- Phone crashes when using some chargers
- Sim cards disappear
- Can't reply to text messages
- Photos become corrupt
- AAS stops working
Most of these issues are resolved with a reboot.

@me The OnePlus6 community port was pretty stable but lacks android integration. The official support for the Sony Xperia was very unstable for me.

@Muppensish@mastodon.social amazing! I purchased a Sony Xperia 10 iii. It's going to be delivered tomorrow!
Replying to
@jolla@techhub.social there is very little upto date information about Sailfish OS. It would be amazing to get sailfish in the hands of reviewers like @thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social and make people aware that it exists!

@z3ntu@fosstodon.org amazing work! Again thank you for your continued effort. I need to find a FP3 motherboard now.

@ebassi@mastodon.social @matzipan@hachyderm.io If the funding was raised to allow a developer to work on a project full time would that count as providing a product or service? I already make monthly donations, the initiatives would be additional donations to help achieve a specific goal (that wasn't clear from my previous comment)

@alaraajavamma@fosstodon.org @furilabs@fosstodon.org it would be great to see all this ability and effort contributed to existing projects.
