It's messy, lots of it crumbles away and gets wasted, and you're left feeling strangely unsatisfied. But it's hard to find the willpower to stop.</p> @heydon@front-end.social Personal experience: My latest Oats & Honey bar left me satisfied, but the Javascript, much less so. I think you're doing Nature Valley bars a disservice here 😂
Open post George Steel @george@phpc.social · 6mo ago Replying to @saramg@fosstodon.org @george What they (hopefully) sound like. USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 / Thunderbolt 4 compatible nubbins that provide the same magnetic attachment convenience of Apple's native charging solution "Magsafe", but like... better, 'cause all the pins, and different orientations for different applications. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4SVY9YJ @saramg Ahh thanks for the link. I originally thought that the MagSafe port on the Mac could do data and I didn’t know it 😁

Open post George Steel @george@phpc.social · 3mo ago Replying to @dantleech@fosstodon.org The interface cargo cult: I'm seeing: - `XInterface` is registered as a service ID in the controller. OK. - It returns a concrete implementation.. OK. Then: - The concrete implementation's class is also registerd in the DI - It returns the interface - The concrete implementation X is not retrieved via. the XInterface service but by X. - The "XInterface" is not used in production code - There is a test that tests that X implements the XInterface. That's it. @dantleech@fosstodon.org 🤦♂️
Open post George Steel @george@phpc.social · 3mo ago Replying to @dantleech@fosstodon.org F-Keys are a lie in 2026 (and probably since 2006 when laptop manufacturers unaimously agreed that it was too expensive to have dedicated media buttons). No I can't use them on MacOS due to every combination I can think of resulting in some random shitty MacOS thing happening and nothing gets through to Kitty. @dantleech@fosstodon.org Silly question probably, but do you have 'Use as standard function keys turned on'?
Open post George Steel @george@phpc.social · 3mo ago Replying to @dantleech@fosstodon.org @george@phpc.social although now the opposite is true and cam't use the media keys even when holding down the magic `fn` button. oh well 🤣 @dantleech@fosstodon.org 🫠

MBP on a single TB4 cable to a CalDigit hub connected to a 32" curved 4K/180Hz, and an ultralight 1080p panel running off a single USB-C providing video and PD. And since the TB4 cable has magsafe couplers, I can just walk away with my laptop without even having to think about the "effort" of unplugging. @saramg@fosstodon.org What are these mag-safe couplers?

Open post George Steel @george@phpc.social · 2w ago Replying to @zhenyi@mastodon.social Catsup is a reusable grocery list. The whole point of the app is that you don’t want bought items to disappear. You want to slide a knob, go buy bread, then slide the knob back. All the toggles, buttons, and even the separators are crappily hand-drawn. The font is my handwriting. https://andadinosaur.com/launch-catsup @zhenyi@mastodon.social Is it published on the app store yet? Couldn't find it in the UK :(
