(In August, but I don’t think the missing air conditioning will be an issue or will it?)

No address or country stated anywhere except buried under Legal > Contact Information. There they say Brooklyn, NY. Luckily I know what that means. I’m looking for bike-friendly hotels (in Paris). But these days search results are muddled with suspiciously generic, generated websites.
Does anyone have experience with any website like bikefriendlyhotels.com or ridgelodge.com (sounds better) or just has a manual, personal recommendation for Paris with a race bike?

Anything iCloud (messages, Jesus) but also mysterious things like the Health app cling to their GB as if there was no tomorrow. I bought a refurb 13 mini with more storage but like the “eingelaufene” unpreciousness of this 12er

@QuentinJuhel@post.lurk.org @dobody@mastodon.design That culminated in phototype times where the (proprietary) fonts were used as incentives to buy a certain typesetting machine or model. That’s also where design copying was rampant.
When type was physical, trade was mostly local. It didn’t make sense to ship cast foundry type across the globe. You’d rather trade matrices (or a minimum character-set) and then cast the respective type to be sold locally. Also type-height and alignment was different in different places.

@tml@mementomori.social I always enjoy smaller towns and rural places very much in the UK. Going through my map pins I have Orford on my to-visit-list, Old Hunstanton Beach, Hambledon (further south), Avebury, Shaftesbury and the national tramway museum in Cromford. And if you haven’t seen Coventry Cathedral yet, that made a lasting impression on me last fall! Definitely worth a detour and hop off a train! Amazing architecture and stone lettering!

I always wanted to visit Margate but never got around to, not too far from either. And in London, have you been to the Sir John Soane’s museum yet? Brixton?

But I think Trenčin is fun to try any time this late summer. Haven’t checked the program yet but I don’t actually care that much about it. It’s usually always worthwhile, whatever is on.

Cyrillic foundry type companies probably traded matrices among themselves and with Latin-using partners or mother companies (Berthold for instance had a branch in Russia). Cyrillic was developed from Latin design and localised characters for the different languages using Cyrillic.
Do you have any concrete example/typeface we can help with?
