A rescue dog waiting more than 600 days for a forever home stepped up to save another animal's life this week. Staff at the Humane Society of Adams County, #Ohio answered an urgent call from Adams County Veterinary Services, who needed a large, healthy dog to provide an emergency blood donation for a critically ill patient.
Shelter workers selected Tatum, an American Bulldog & Pit Bull Terrier Mix, one of the facility’s largest and healthiest residents, to answer the call.
According to shelter officials, Tatum handled the procedure calmly and with poise, providing the vital transfusion needed to help the ailing patient fight for survival.
Tatum has lived at the Humane Society of Adams County for 615 days and remains available for adoption.

Anybody up to helping me design the center space of the yard? #Gardening #Bloomscrolling #Landscaping #Landscape #Nomow
Area is around 24x18
Prefer perennial bulbs, seeds, and plantings. Low watering
Also, a design plan in the fashion of image one would be great.
Zone 6 (Zone 6B if it still exist), full sun
Budget $300, fall planting?

Alice Walton, one of the Walmart heirs, got $33 billion richer last year off of her investments, primarily Walton family trusts. She is now worth $120 billion.
She doesn't hold a run a company or sit on a corporate board, but is an art patron and philanthropist.

We found large, multi-colored mums on sale for $1 each with lots of buds, too! We got 10. Pics come in the daylight.
They were neglected a little but will come back quickly now that they have Paul and Penny to love them. lol
Since I have a lot of local followers, Clermont County, Ohio (Batavia suburb east of #Cincinnati #Ohio ) has like 20 lots of printers/copiers going off GOVDeals auction in less that 5 hours (some 6 hours) of this post! Lots range from 4 to 10 units each lot and bids are like $10 to $50 right now. I guess they upgraded their hardware.
Perfect for business, upgrade your home printing/copying, make flyers, esp if you protest, etc
The computer I run my Mastodon server on came from GovDeal auction via Clermont County for barely nothing for a large lot of the same computers...
Bid right now on this set is only $10
One (1) - Sharp MX-6070 color multifunction copier/printer s/n 6511380X
One (1) - Sharp MX-5071 color multifunction copier/printer s/n 95120984
One (1) - Sharp MX-M654 multifunction copier/printer s/n 45005249
One (1) - Lanier MP2554SP multifunction copier/printer s/n G145R901495

I have no relationship with govdeals or Clermont county. As a matter of fact, it is like 45 miles away from me. This is not an advertisement.

2/ #PaulsAuntBetty phone, cable and internet still out. Been down since Sunday morning. In a metro area. I have her a 4g VoLTE cellular home base that you plug a home phone in setup and working. $15 per month, unlimited. This won't happen again. The home base will pay for itself in one billing. It was like $49.99+tax
Works like a charm! #Cincinnati #Ohio #altafiber .

2/ FYI, price increased over $100 since Friday if delivered today and no price lock-in. So, whatever the price is per gallon when he is done filling the tank is what we would be charged. We'll pass right now. It's backup heat. Thank you el Niño. lol

Holy fvck. I just called to see how much home heating oil is and it is $6.49 a gallon in #AppalachianOhio today. That's over $1600 a fill-up.
The most we have ever paid to fill the tank was $700 #Ohio #USPol
You know how many ppl heat with oil the US, esp in the northern climates!
So glad it is our backup heat now and we put in the heat pumps over the past couple years!
Open quoted post🚨 At some point tonight, I will be migrating Oldfriends servers with help of my friend and if it breaks, see you on the flip side after it gets fixed.
It's only 10:10pm Eastern time. Why does it feel like 1 or 2am? Is it just me?

5/ After Mt. Orab, #Ohio, an eastern rural #Cincinnati suburb and gateway into #AppalachianOhio, city council scrapped modern zoning regulations in early 2026 so a large data center could be built without public knowledge, input or oversight, residents fought back.
At the end of Wednesday's meeting, the final public speaker turned to the crowd and asked who was against construction of a data center in Mt. Orab. Every hand in the crowd went up

A Texas mental health clinic owner was convicted by a federal jury after prosecutors said he orchestrated a $26 million scheme to defraud the military’s health care program, using some of the proceeds to fund luxury purchases, including a gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck worth more than $100,000.
Federal prosecutors said the man exploited TRICARE, the health care program serving active-duty servicemembers, retirees and their families, by billing for transcranial magnetic stimulation, or TMS, therapy that was medically unnecessary or, in many cases, never provided.
The Justice Department said the man falsely represented himself as a medical doctor, used licensed doctors’ credentials without their knowledge or consent to submit claims to TRICARE, and directed employees to fabricate medical records to justify fraudulent billings.
