I really like the texture and personality that comes from using physical media this way. I've seen good digital art, but it's a different feel, usually. I think if I get into painting again someday it will be in this style. It's like, inconsistency, messiness, works in its favor...

couldn't find a title. I think this has a spooky feel? Maybe it has the same sort of aesthetic as a sort of 60s - 70s science fiction that scared me when I was a kid. It's dark and there are evil-looking implements being used and idk I don't get a definite good guy sense from this character - that could be the cape and helmet of an evil alien villain. Weird energies flying around that don't seem normal, and maybe a vision of hell behind them. I'm spooked! 🤣

idk it looks like the grave has been disturbed, the knocked-over cross, the shovel, the planks. Also something glowing at the base of the next headstone over. This ghost seems spooky but not the kind that is going to eat your soul? Maybe the danger here is getting bummed out on an otherwise nice trip to the cemetery. We came to put flowers on a grave and enjoy the cultivated landscaping but now we have to solve the case of the crying ghost! ruh-roh. Zoinks!

This is one of many weird prints in a series done by Goya and I like some better than others but it's worth checking out. This seems spooky but also possibly-probably social commentary. One of these seems to be having more fun than the others? Los Caprichos translates as "Caprices", and many of these are images of people who don't have the luxury of caprices.

There are different opinions about it apparently. I'm sure I'll never understand all the context, etc., so I like it how it is and think what I want 😎

maybe this is a palate cleanser by Otto Piene, couldn't find a title. A burned up spot, annihilated, reused by the universe as greasy carbon and ash. To be reused by the universe is our destiny, to be welcomed back into the fold, where everything is warm and nothing hurts. I think this is a beautiful thing and I'm not sure where I'd put it. so much twisting going on in this painting, not just the plant but the earth, the rocks, everything is twisted under implied pressures, and the pressures have a flow, or an opposition, wrestling back and forth through the scene. The tough plant in the middle is adapted and bares its serrated teeth at the challenge. In real life those plants are just like that, they have grit, they have substance ❤️

I like this Death, something about its expression, seems both somber and impersonal. Androgynous beauty? Look at those wings. The maiden seems vibrant and pure of heart, I want Death to let her live. But that's how things go.

There are a couple of flower petals on the floor under the vase, maybe Death is there for the flowers.

Idk I don't think Death is there for her. Just stopping by to say hi. Hi, Death. She will be changed forever by this experience and become a force for life in the community.
