Three good things:
Gave away another eight dozen eggs provided by the caretaker of the secret garden.
Gave away a 2.5 feet tall Rose of Sharon tree (grown from a cutting). It's a hibiscus that blooms through the whole summer. Gave away our first jackfruit tree, about 2ft tall, grown from seed.
Prepared dewormer for some fifteen or so cats across the neighborhood.
A visitor turned around after we showed her the chickens. She pointed and asked "what tree is this?"
Our oldest kale, going on five years, got a serious pruning, down to main trunk and some branch stubs.
The diameter of the main "stem" is just under 3 inches, pretty much the same as our six year old white peach tree.
Grow perennial kale if you can, my friends.
Transplanted the struggling tiny banana tree to a better spot, and it is bouncing back already.
Finished the temporary home for the new chickens with shade cloth to have both shade for them and to keep them in.
Transferred some guppies from the aquarium to the mini pond/waterhole for mosquito control.
Now we just need to arrange some comfy spots under the big apricot tree to doze in easy reach of the fruit, okay, just kidding, no rest for the wicked.
Leonardo was a saboteur, Gutenberg went bankrupt and lost the printing press to a bank, which in turn went bankrupt.
"Inventing the Renaissance" with Ada Palmer, who also happens to be on Mastodon.
Five minutes to open an account with one of the "online only" banks.
That's what the one in question said on their website/in their ads.
Minimum time needed to read their terms and conditions is about 1 hour.
[Pls. don't go "nobody reads the T&C anyway", thx.]
Fun small town life, aka. I can't believe it's not communist. 😉
Checking out the front yard, a car pulls up. It's D, and before I know it he approaches with an arm full of cartons. And a big smile.
Seven dozen gifted eggs.
We'll give a bunch to neighbors and keep a dozen or two.
And it all started because D figured out a few years ago why the empty lot he takes care of for an absent relative was no longer full of trash.
"The US would not intervene politically or militarily in Iranian internal affairs;"
"The US would remove the freeze on Iranian assets and trade sanctions on Iran;"
What?
No, that's from the Algiers Accords from 1981 to resolve the Iran hostage crisis.
Yes, almost half a century, nobody...
The future according to Stanford University: CS329A, Self-improving AI agents, part 1:
That was a harsh weekend: cold with several inches of rain, mostly with thunderstorms. The weather service was not kidding when they warned of the potential of "weak tornadoes".
The chicks have discovered physics!
Three of them were leaning against the side of a black plastic bin, which is the warmest spot in the yard right now.
