Shocking. I am shocked. Shocked that society's full of bros who believe anything different.

(for those missing context: this has emphatically been studied many times and requires regular retraining, the cost to automating tasks that require oversight from manual supervision is massive)

@BenjaminBrinckmann@mastodon.art yeah, even an old DSLR with a mediocre lens could make it simpler to achieve something you like... but if you've got a friend who has one it might be good to get them to capture what you want first so you know what the difference might look like. I have a few photographers near me and only one of them seems to have a great reputation for photographing oil paintings so it's not straightforward in any case.

@BenjaminBrinckmann@mastodon.art often what's hard is avoiding glare but that doesn't sound like your problem... some phones do aggressive post-processing that's aimed at bright colorful people scenes so if there's a mode that turns off whatever "magic ai" features your camera has that might help.
