Took like 2 days of work, but now I've got Guix System installed on my secondary laptop. The process involved, among other things, installing the Guix package manager on my primary laptop, compiling Linux-lts, making an archive of it, moving it to my secondary laptop and importing the archive (because a 2017 IdeaPad is not the machine where you want to be compiling Linux kernels.) All this because the wireless chipset's firmware need delicious binary blobs that aren't included with Linux-libre.
For the last few years, I've used the domain youmightbe.gay hosted an easily readable and searchable version of the "Am I A Lesbian? Masterdoc" that's been floating around the internet for years. I had the domain and didn't know what to do with it, and a friend suggested I do that, so I did.
Now, I need to renew the domain name, and the fee has been going up to $51.18 now (edit: new registrar, €27!). If you have some spare change to contribute, it would be very welcome!
I am so tired. I am so very angry. And I am physically nauseated.
After putting Guix System on my secondary laptop, I have now started planning out Linux From Scratch with dinit instead of systemd or SysV init, and I'm so tempted to try and get together a system with GNU Stow for system stuff and GNU Guix for user space stuff.
