Anyhow, my ear lobes are currently generating enough heat to power Upper Hutt, hopefully I won’t spend our anniversary meal itching my ear lobes.

Went to the mall today to get some hypoallergenic sleepers to open my holes (NOT A EUPHEMISM)
How expensive are simple studs!? $35 for a pair, last time I bought sleepers they were £2, like I said it’s been a while.

When we got married a few years later, we got the jeweller who was making our wedding rings to turn the pearls into earrings for me to wear on our wedding day.
I decided it would be nice to wear them for our Pearl anniversary, however I haven’t worn earrings for a long time.

@essjax@m.essjax.com @thomasbeagle@mastodon.nz I have run out of pointless tinkering ideas and need suggestions. But I am also on a sewing deadline so maybe wait until November.

I have voted to keep out the cookers from InternetNZ. Tautoko to those doing the mahi and suggesting a ranking for the clueless folks like me.

This one I just finished, and is the third one I’ve made from this pattern, fabric from The Fabric Store sale in the last three years Very pleased with the collar this time.
The close up is the best colour representation, the light in my sewing space this time of day is not good.

Had an extremely vivid dream last night. I was on a group call, trying to figure out how to join some tricky tables. Then I had leave the call because there was a tiger in the yard. The tiger was stalking Oggi, and we were very concerned because Oggi is blind and vulnerable. But it was a friendly tiger who wanted to look after Oggi, and took a shine to some of my knitted hats.

Urgh. Worked until 7.15 because brain was on fire with a new process and I wanted to get it written. Now I’m very very tired. Zonk.

@mementomaori@kind.social Zenni are still pushing it, but they also do IR blocking which I will be getting, as it stops the facial recognition in the supermarket from working.

Argharghargh! The vinegar was finished, took the stopper out but the rubber bit got stuck. Both of us trying to get it out with a chopstick and tweezers, and the bottle was making weird gurgling noises. Then my life turned into an episode of the X Files and I had to ask Ecosia wtf this was while husband biffed it over the fence.

@Happyfishmedia@cloudisland.nz it is surprising, mainly because I assumed the youth wing was for 55-60 year olds.

Fruity language, TERFs
New quandary, this one is a bit more serious.
I’ve been a member of Amnesty International Aotearoa for more than ten years. I’ve blocked their phone numbers and ignore their emails cause they’re a bit pushy, but it’s a cause I’ve supported for a long time.
The UK arm published a report on organisations that are seeking to limit human rights, and named some TERF arsehole organisations.
Of course that cunt JKR came cackling out of her dung heap and offered to pay the legal fees of anyone who wanted to sue Amnesty.
They’ve now walked it back and apologised to the TERFs.

@mementomaori@kind.social I got husband to get it on his new pair, to stop him from being tracked at the supermarket. Except he doesn’t take them with him and we end up with tuna in oil and Quorn nuggets instead of pieces because his arms aren’t long enough.

@dec_hl@mastodon.social the dragonfly fabric is very stiff, similar to curtain fabric, so wouldn’t fall the same way the red one does. Unfortunately it’s only 2m of narrow fabric, so not enough for a dress. That Burda pattern would work if I had more of it. That other dress is gorgeous!

@caity@bne.social I wanted to get the titanium ones from the piercing place, but there was no-one at the till and I was sure they’d be cheaper in Lovisa. I’m going to dig out my silver sleepers and disinfect those so I can wear them in a few days.

Quandary time. I’ve had this piece of silk since 2008, waiting for the right pattern/weight loss/whatever. I found a great pattern and made a mock up, but I think the silk doesn’t have enough drape for the top and now I don’t know what to make with it.
