Three years ago, excavation caused a landslide in my condominium community, creating a financial nightmare I never saw coming. I own my home, but I can’t access its equity. My approved loan was pulled because of structural concerns and ongoing litigation. Insurance denied the claims, and our HOA took out a $1 million loan, increasing our monthly fees. Hello everyone,

My name is Masoud. I am a husband and father of two young children, and I am reaching out with humility and hope during an extremely difficult period in my life.

After losing my work and financial resources, I have struggled to meet my family’s most basic needs. I have no stable housing, no savings, and significant financial obligations. I am trying to find a way to rebuild our lives and provide my children with the security, stability, and opportunities they deserve.

My most urgent priorities are:

It functions mainly as an amplifier, so please do not use the form as the only place where you put your mutual aid request. You can either paste the link to your own mutual aid request post into the form or write your mutual aid request manually. The point is to help the request travel further while giving the person asking for support a little more control over how directly their social media identity is attached to that circulation. Too many people judge the disabled for what we do to survive. The truth is you can’t fathom what it’s like to live in a body that’s betrayed you. To exist in legislated poverty with no reliable help or care. To be left by the wayside to die and abandoned by almost everyone. People will claim to understand. They will try and empathize. But then they say things like “if it were really that bad you would have support”. Or “you just have to try harder and get another doctor”. They don’t actually listen to us. They talk over us. They’re utterly convinced that they know better about our suffering, and that if we really wanted to get better we could. We simply don’t want it bad enough. Nothing could be further from the truth. Disabled people are incredibly resourceful. We’re surviving in a system doing its utmost to kill us. If “wanting” to get better was all it took, no one would be chronically ill. If support showed up whenever it was truly needed, no one would suffer. If healthcare helped, we would be lined up at the hospital doors. Hello everyone, I’m a 36-year-old honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran living in Charlotte, North Carolina. I’m reaching out today because I’m facing the very real possibility of losing my home, and I have exhausted nearly every resource I know. I have always been an independent person. I served in the Navy, built a career in sales, and worked to establish a small business. I’ve spent years trying to create stability and a better future for myself. Unfortunately, this year has been incredibly difficult financially. Losing my employment income led to months of struggling to keep up with rent, utilities, and basic living expenses. I’ve been applying for jobs, seeking emergency assistance, and doing everything within my power to recover. The hardest part is that I finally received the opportunity I’ve been working toward. I have a new job starting November 9, 2026. After months of uncertainty, I finally have a path back to financial independence. But I now face losing my apartment before I even get the chance to start. My apartment management has informed me that I must pay my outstanding rent balance by Monday, October 12, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern, or they intend to pursue eviction proceedings. Because two previous eviction cases were dismissed, management has stated that they will not voluntarily dismiss a third filing. My total outstanding rent balance is $3,017.18. Through the generosity of family and friends and by exhausting the immediate resources available to me, I’ve managed to secure $1,465. I am asking for help raising the remaining $1,552.18 to protect my housing. I know times are difficult for so many people. I’m not expecting any one person to solve this for me. Even contributions of $5, $10, or $25 would bring me closer to keeping my home. I can provide redacted documentation from my apartment management confirming the outstanding balance and deadline. What makes this situation particularly heartbreaking is how close I am to getting back on my feet. I’m not facing an indefinite period without an employment opportunity. It's frustrating to see people posting ableist comments when they criticize politicians. I just saw a comment saying Trump must need to wear a diaper. That is not the zinger that you think it is. Some disabled folks wear diapers or have colostomy bags. Why comment on someone else's body (weight is another common target) instead of their actions or policies? Please stop the ableist remarks.
