Cats hallucinate.
LLMs just break things in your environment, shit outside their boxes, and try to sink their claws into you.
Only one belongs on the Internet.
This has been a public service message from the cats.

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social @joshef@mastodon.social I have actually seen cats who like being in tubs and sinks when they're full of water, not just to lick the faucet. I've just never seen a tub two meters deep ;)
Replying to
@joshef@mastodon.social @MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social I believe cats are prohibited from going deeper than two meters in any body of water. But they're nearly all fine with that.

@cstross@wandering.shop @muddle@infosec.exchange @michael_w_busch@mastodon.online I'm a long-lapsed Catholic and the only thing I'd want from a "secular" religion is something with the same spirit as the Sermon on the Mount. The rest can wither.
Replying to
@muddle@infosec.exchange @michael_w_busch@mastodon.online @cstross@wandering.shop There are a few sentences in the New American Bible version where Jesus says exactly that, e.g. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill."
He's putting his own gloss on Talmud and speaking against the Pharisees but not all of tradition.
And what he's defining as Christianity is definitely not what the modern Pharisees preaching the prosperity gospel or the transhumanists with whatever the Singularity is this year have in mind.

@dyckron@cosocial.ca That reminds me of this heartwarming story from a few years ago in Philly:
'After the anti-trans protesters left the area, they were forced to leave the nearby Khyber Pass Pub by employees who became aware of their bigoted views. The pub “is a punk and metal institution … they aren’t to be fucked with by bigots and fascist[s],” one observer noted.'

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social I hate to tell you, and I say this as someone who's been using Ubuntu for about two decades, but Canonical is also pushing AI, though at least it's an optional add-on.
Before you get too attached, you might want to look at systems that have promised not to allow AI tools or LLM-generated code, like @elementary@mastodon.social OS, NetBSD, or Debian (which Ubuntu is based on). There's also Gentoo, but that has a history of being hard for new users.
