I maintain a thread on avoiding ads during watch parties (I'm not an expert, just a few things I've come across or been told about), so I'm curious:

1. What platform do you watch Tubi on?

2. Have you tried any ad-blocking methods in the thread? Others?

3. If so, what was the result?

@diazona@techhub.social The Fly was definitely in the Monsterdon sweet spot for me. Maybe we need to do a monsterdon sweet spot-bracket. #Monsterdon #The Fly

Really hyped for the Dangelo-verse movies #Monsterdon #The Fly

@strangefour@retro.pizza Yes! Was thinking of The Guyver too. Trying to think of a third for the discount DVD pak but coming up empty…. #Monsterdon #TheFly

Before I wander off and pass out lemme just send a wrapup post for this week's #monsterdon Vincent Price 2fer: The Bat & The Fly- Thanks as always to our host @Taweret@timeloop.cafe for coming up with a great slate of October Movies, @miru@social.miyaku.media for hosting the streaming and double feature, @JoeWynne@mstdn.plus for the excelleng cocktail and trivia, and @LuciaG@wandering.shop for the Bingo!

We had so many sights to see this week:

• Agnes Moorehead IMO absolutely stealing the movie away from Vince, who did a great performance as well
• The horrors of neural network colorization on full display.
• We used the same neural network to fart out some subtitles.
• A LOT less fanfiction on this than I would have expected given some of the tension on screen
• A double feature featuring both a Brundlefly and a Flybrundle. I don't remember if the Cronenberg remake even had a flybrundle, The o.g. did though.
• Watch out for the Rabbit Bats, they bite!

Seriously though these two were both good movies. Laughed/Cried, better than cats etc...

Finishing off a very #VincentPrice night with an episode of The Saint Choice Classic Radio Detectives | Old Time Radio: The Saint: Ladies Never Lie - Much 01/07/1951 Episode webpage: https://choiceclassicradiodetectives.podbean.com/e/the-saint-ladies-never-lie-much-01071951/ Media file: https://mcdn.podbean.com/mf/web/4uiaacygfwesz2d2/The_Saint_-_Ladies_Never_Lie_-_Much_01_07_1951b2gj7.mp3 #Monsterdon

@pngwen@techhub.social where Dangelo could take his revenge for eternity? sure, real humane... #monsterdon

#monsterdon #monsterdondoublefeature and #CanadaInSciFi I followed #TheFly with #ReturnOfTheFly and he just walked into his company shop where the corporate sign says #Montreal

That research barrel burned itself out pretty quick, almost like a fire service based B plot would have broken the budget #Monsterdon #MonsterdonDoubleFeature #TheFly1958

@crowbriarhexe@tech.lgbt yeah I was "you don't light a barrel of paper in your _basement_" that's insane. the smoke would have them unable to speak for coughing in under 5 minutes. the house would burn down. probably top of my list of the disbelief, that interrupt the flow the story. number two - that giant missing corner of the window pane, for rich people living in a mansion? #monsterdon

@klu9@ohai.social @ryan@social.miyaku.media The catkiller got what was coming to him in the end! #monsterdon

@RachelThornSub@famichiki.jp @diazona@techhub.social tbh, goldblum makes a fantastically grotesque human-headed fly, but the movie doesn’t come even remotely close to vp’s level. I mean how could it? #JusticeForDandelo#Monsterdon #monsterdondoublefeature #thefly1958

Fun fact: according to IMDB, this was the highlight of Patricia Owens' career (she's the actor who played Helene) https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0654433/ #Monsterdon #MonsterdonDoubleFeature #TheFly1958

Hold the fuck up, that's…half of an Argiope stabilimentum why does an orbweaver have a…strangely accurate wolf spider eye arrangement??? hey, i feel sorry for the guy but why did the spider have to die??? #Monsterdon #MonsterdonDoubleFeature

"But for one instant he was careless." That was honestly quite good! Patricia Owens's performance (as Helene) sells it. And of course Vincent Price is never unwelcome. Okay time to cuddle the cat now, g'night all! Thanks @ryan@social.miyaku.media for the stream! #Monsterdon #MonsterdonDoubleFeature

Thanks again, Miru, et al! #Monsterdon #TheFly1958
