Such good staging #Monsterdon

“It’s somewhere in the house.. probably in a room overlooking the driveway” #Monsterdon

Very satisfying. If I had known about this in junior high, I would have had it in tight rotation with the Thin Man films. #Monsterdon

#3GoodThings Happy news of an accepted publication! Four days done of a weeklong departmental event. Whew. Floods in the morning. But clear roads on the way home!

“Would you slal like to see one of those heads?” #Monsterdon

With one more round of editing, they’d have a decent 50 minute TV episode. But, no. Still, a good time was had by all the readers of the feed. Thanks, @Taweret@timeloop.cafe, @Cherizilla@mastodon.social and @JoeWynne@mstdn.plus for the #Monsterdon camaraderie.

Keep watching this time! #Monsterdon

It’s an hour and half till tonight’s #Monsterdon screening: Journey to the Center of Time (1967). AKA Time Warp. Click it on the hour for free on Tubi and live toot along with us!

Bowing out before the second feature. That jellyfish film was awkward in so many ways. Jeepers!. Still, thanks @Taweret@timeloop.cafe, @Cherizilla@mastodon.social, @JoeWynne@mstdn.plus, and @LuciaG@wandering.shop for inviting us to the messy beach party #Monsterdon

“We have no laser weapon” “You will have” #Monsterdon

[dramatic pause] Looking into the future! #Monsterdon

Red stripe club! #Monsterdon

@nixCraft@mastodon.social Possibly not every year. We're getting one in my household, but it's to replace an iPhone 8.

@lilithsaintcrow@raggedfeathers.com This is a really interesting examination of the different goals of writing workshop participants. I benefited from a creative writing MA, though focused on poetry rather than fiction. (Also, Kevin Baconly, I believe at that same school I took classes from Rebecca Makkai’s father, linguist Adam Makkai.)

Ah, it is that Lyle Waggoner! #Monsterdon

#Monsterdon starts in an hour and half, tonight viewing Night of the Comet (1984). An anniversary screening of the events depicted and so very 80s! But since I’ve seen it twice before, I’m going to bow out tonight and check out some Raumpatrouille Orion. See you next week, movie fans.

Why are they listening to the guy who made all the bad decisions? #Monsterdon

I found the answer. And the answer is crazy. #Monsterdon

#Monsterdon “a glimpe of the true meaning of time”

She’s calculating… #Monsterdon

Still craving to see Giant From the Unknown (1958), so I’m going to have to watch it without the #Monsterdon crowd. Come on--a giant 500-year-old Spanish conquistador! Will report back, but here’s a taste of what you’ve abandoned: “With a big, booming and dramatic score by Albert Glasser, superb acting, and a menacing villain, Giant From the Unknown is a solid entry in the sci-fi and horror monster movies of yesteryear.” https://www.reddit.com/r/HorrorReviewed/comments/kul6hr/giant_from_the_unknown_1958_scifimonster/

The prison hall #Monsterdon

Jellyfish theme! #Monsterdon

Also kind of great to see Agnes Moorhead as independent and charming. I only experienced her as the campy, crabby, and heavily eye-shadowed Endora on Bewitched. #Monsterdon

#3GoodThings (Monday holiday edition) a morning walk – outside! Cats, dog walkers, birds, flowers a third load of laundry done watching the funny, dark, and regionally accented How to Get to Heaven From Belfast

Bongo escape music! #Monsterdon

#3GoodThings Had students competing today to counter-interpret presupposition examples. I’ve used the pair of slides before, but never to such fervor. A really satisfying class session. Rain. For the first time in over 60 days. The weather may finally be shifting into fall here. Time to sit and think after a day of endless work email. Priceless.

Great jazzy score to start with. #Monsterdon

Ah, Chekov’s gun appears, and she knows how to use it #Monsterdon

That goo glows under a black light, right? #Monsterdon

#3GoodThings Followed a favorite jazz DJ from SiriusXM to KJazz, a California radio station. And from that have discovered a whole set of new hosts and great shows. Pizza in the Breville oven. With kalamata olives and mushrooms. 👨‍🍳 Book club coming up this week, so I’m catching up on the selection, a cozy fantasy focused on a jam shop (The Spell Shop, by Sarah Beth Durst.)

Did you know that the secret closet was here? #Monsterdon

@Violinknitter@wandering.shop She honestly looked like Hayden Panettiere. But that's creepy, too, now. #Monsterdon

@jadebees@sunny.garden It was the Ennis House, by Frank Lloyd Wright #Monsterdon

Ah. Classic. The best film we’ve seen in months. Thanks, @Taweret@timeloop.cafe, @Cherizilla@mastodon.social, @JoeWynne@mstdn.plus and @LuciaG@wandering.shop@hcommons.social for a wonderful start to Spooky Month #Monsterdon

He does have some science going on #Monsterdon

Full disclosure: I've published on the topic of old movie exclamations starting with "why" and "say". So I'm always on the look out 😀 #Monsterdon
